Terms of Service

Cova (covaco.io) — Last updated May 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of Cova (covaco.io), a UK-based event vendor marketplace. By using the platform — whether as a vendor or an event planner — you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Questions? Contact us at hello@covaco.io.

2. Who can use Cova

You must be at least 18 years old to use Cova. By using the platform you confirm that you are 18 or over.

Vendors must be based in the United Kingdom and legally permitted to offer the services they list.

3. Vendors

Listing your services

By creating a profile on Cova, you confirm that:

  • All information you provide is accurate and up to date
  • You are legally authorised to provide the services you list
  • Any portfolio content you upload is your own work or you have the rights to use it
  • You hold any licences, insurance, or permits required to operate your business

Enquiries and bookings

When a planner sends you an enquiry through Cova, you agree to respond in a timely and professional manner. You are responsible for the services you provide. Cova facilitates the connection — we are not a party to the contract between you and your client.

Founding vendors

Founding vendors who join during the pre-launch period are entitled to:

  • 3 months of free platform access from the date of launch
  • Priority placement in their city and category at launch
  • A founding vendor badge on their profile
  • Their rate locked in for as long as they remain on the platform

These benefits are personal to the vendor and cannot be transferred.

Fees

Current pricing is communicated at the point of signup or in direct correspondence. We will give vendors at least 30 days notice before introducing or changing any fees. Founding vendor rates are exempt from increases for as long as they remain on the platform.

4. Event planners

Use of Cova is free for event planners. We may introduce optional paid features in future, but core discovery and enquiry functionality will remain free.

By using the platform you agree to use it in good faith — to genuinely enquire about vendors for real events, not to harvest contact information or send unsolicited communications.

5. Payments

Where payments are processed through Cova, they are handled by Stripe. By making or receiving a payment through the platform you also agree to Stripe's terms of service (stripe.com/gb/legal).

Cova does not store payment card details. All payment data is handled directly by Stripe.

Refunds and cancellations are subject to the individual vendor's cancellation policy, which is displayed on their profile. Cova is not responsible for disputes between planners and vendors, but we will do our best to help resolve them fairly.

6. Reviews

Reviews on Cova are only accepted from users who have completed a booking through the platform. We do not accept or publish unverified reviews.

You must not submit false, misleading, or defamatory reviews. We reserve the right to remove any review that violates these terms.

7. Prohibited conduct

You must not use Cova to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Impersonate another person or business
  • Scrape, copy, or republish content from the platform without permission
  • Send spam or unsolicited commercial messages to other users
  • Attempt to circumvent the platform by taking bookings off-platform to avoid fees (once fees are introduced)
  • Upload content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes third-party rights

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.

8. Intellectual property

All content on covaco.io that is not submitted by users — including the Cova name, logo, design, and copy — belongs to Cova and may not be reproduced without permission.

Vendors retain ownership of the content they upload to their profiles. By uploading content, you grant Cova a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the platform and use it for the purpose of promoting Cova and your profile.

9. Limitation of liability

Cova is a marketplace that connects vendors and planners. We are not responsible for:

  • The quality, safety, or legality of services provided by vendors
  • Any disputes between vendors and planners
  • Loss or damage arising from the use of the platform beyond what we are required to cover under UK law

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by email and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes are notified constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
